Suckitude, Pt 2

So, here's what happened.

I'm in the left lane on Drake, headed westbound. A gold Corolla is also in the left lane, about two, three car lengths in front of me. We're quickly approaching Stover, which is closed southbound of Drake. There is a barricade in the left turn lane, indicating that you indeed, cannot turn left onto Stover.

The gold Corolla changes lanes into the right lane, still heading westbound. I am slowly passing the Corolla, as I am still in the left lane, still heading westbound. The driver of the Corolla decides, "Hey, I need to turn left on Stover!" Without checking his blind spot, or maybe even his mirrors, he turns straight into my lane. I slam on the brakes, but I don't stop before the front right of Jetta the Jetta hits the left rear of the Corolla. (yes my car is named Jetta the Jetta)
